Wash dal and soak for 30 mins.

Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker and saute all vegetables together with ginger. Fry for 2 mins and add 3 cups water (vary quantity as per your desire). Then add dal and pressure cook for 4 whistles on medium high heat or till dal and vegetables are

In a separate small wok heat 1 tsp ghee and fry green chillies and paanch phoron for 1 minute. Add to the cooked dal.

Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Serving Suggestions

Best eaten with any fry and/or pickle.
