Chirer/Poha Pulao (Niraamish)
Vegetarian flattened rice preparation with spices and nuts - a light, quick Bengali snack.
Cooking
Wash poha and drain water immediately. Keep aside for 5 minutes to check that it is soft.
Heat oil in a kadhai. Add the vegetables and fry on medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Keep aside.
To the remaining oil add cinnamon, groundnuts, and ginger. Fry for 30 seconds and add poha + turmeric. Fry on medium-low heat for 2 minutes.
Add fried vegetables, salt and mix. Cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with cilantro, green chillies, and lemon juice.
Serve for breakfast.
