Long beans (borboti) cooked Bengali-style, a nutritious and flavorful vegetable preparation.

Cooking

Heat oil in pan, to it add paanch phoron, and dry red chillies. Fry for 30 sec or until seeds start to splatter.

Add string beans and potatoes. Fry for 3-4 min.

Add turmeric, red chilli powder, pepper powder, and salt. Fry for 2-3 min.

Add 1 cup hot water and bring to boil. Cover and simmer until vegetables are cooked Remove cover, turn heat to high and let the remaining water evaporate A minute before removing from heat, add sugar, green chillies, and mix well.

Garnish with chopped cilantro
