Servings: 3-4 persons

Ingredients:    

Kachki Maach - 200 g

Begun/Eggplant - 100 g

Turmeric - 1/2 tsp

Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp (this is a hot preparation)

Green Chillies - 4, slit

Salt - To taste

Cilantro/Dhonepata/Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp, chopped

Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped

Mustard Oil - 6 tbsp

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cooking procedure:

  1. Wash fish/kachki maach thoroughly and drain water.

  2. Cut begun/eggplant into 1.5 inch long x 0.5 inch long pieces.

  3. Take the fish in a bowl and to it add begun/eggplant, turmeric, chilli powder and salt with 1 tbsp oil. Mix well

  4. Heat remaining oil and add onions.

  5. Fry for 1 min on high heat and add fish-begun/eggplant mix.

  6. Turn heat to medium. Do not stir and let cook for 5-7 min till lower side of the fish pieces turns brown.

  7. Stir to turn the other side for cooking. Cook further for 5-7 minutes (same as previous step) without stirring.

  8. Add cilantro, green chillies and remove from heat.

                                                                             

Serving Suggestions:

 A very hot and delicious dry fish preparation that can be eaten with rice.
